So what are the differences between the Visualites Reading Glasses?

At Visualites our reading glasses all follow a cohesive design style that fits our idea of what makes the ideal pair of readers. These design characteristics include the lightweight rimless design, a comfortable fit and the compact shape that fits in our wildly popular “tube case” that our customers love. In fact we continually here that it is the combination of the stylish design, the comfortable feel and the ability to take them anywhere in their protective case that makes Visualites the perfect pair of reading glasses! While there are many similarities in our readers there are also some distinct differences that make them all unique. Read on to learn the subtleties and in some cases major differences in our models.

Let’s start with the Visualites 1 and the Visualites 8 as these are our two best-selling pair of reading glasses and they appear to be very similar. But there a couple of distinct differences between the two pair, the Visualites 1 is what is known as a screw mount, you will see the screws on the face holding the arms to the lenses, and holding the nose pads to the lenses. The Visualites 8 is compression mount so no screws, the temple arms and nose piece are molded to the lenses, resulting in a little more sturdy with a cleaner look. The other difference is the nose piece on the 8 is one molded piece, where as, the 1 has metal arms and rubber nose pads so you can adjust those a little if you want. If you look at the pictures of each closely you will be able to see these things now that you know. One characteristic that both of these models and several other share is the silicon sleeves that cover the temple arm ends, these help add comfort and prevent slippage.

The Visualites 2 and the Visualites 5 are also screw mounts and are very similar to the Visualites 1 with really just an aesthetic difference. The 1 is the classic rectangle lens shape, the Visualites 2 is our Half Moon with a heart shaped lens for those looking for something a little softer. The Visualites 5 is another one or our best-selling reading glasses with the oval shape, this is also an extremely classic look for readers.

The Visualites 7 are what is know as a Half Eye pair of reading glasses. These are also screw mount construction but in the case of the 7 the arms that the nose pads are attached to are shorter. What this does it it allows the readers to be worn lower on the nose so you can look over them while not reading. This is a specific design for people who want to wear their glasses in the half eye style.

All the readers listed above, the Visualites 1, 2, 5, 7 and 8 are made with hypoallergenic TR-90, a lightweight and flexible material that allows us to create what are some call “gells”. If you like the flexible reading glasses for the comfort they provide any of these are what you are looking for.

The new Visualites X are really rather different, largely because they are made with aluminum so instread of being flexible readers they are rigid. What we like about this is they are a slightly more elegant look, so if you want to wear these to a board meeting or a 5 Star restaurant they will hold their own. These are also a compression mount further adding to their elegance.

We have not touched on the Computer Reading Glasses, don’t want to leave these out as they are fastest growing market. Our blue light filtering reading glasses are made in the same frame as the compression mount Visualites 8, the only difference is in the lenses where the filtering is applied.

All or our readers have optical quality lenses and all fit in our popular and easy to carry tube case. In fact, the case is the same size across all models so you can swap if need be.
