At Visualites we use polycarbonate (PC) for our lenses because they are significantly lighter than glass or other lens option while offering high impact resistance that makes them durable and less likely to crack. Thanks to advancements in manufacturing we are now offering the Ultra-Thin version of PC lenses resulting in lower profile and the lightest reading glasses available.

TR-90 one of the best materials for the frames of reading glasses because it is very lightweight which significantly enhances the comfort of the glasses by putting less pressure on the nose and ears.

TR-90 is highly durable and resistant to stress and heat, making the frames less likely to crack or become damaged. TR-90 is also hypoallergenic.

TR-90 frames are extremely flexible, which helps them withstand accidental bending and twisting. This flexibility also allows for a better fit, as the frames can adapt to the shape of the wearer’s face.

IM frames made from TR-90 are extremely durable and resistant to stress, impacts, and heat. The ability to mold frames with thin yet strong structures further reduces the weight of our glasses.

On cheaper readers the hinge is inserted via a heat and push method that leave bumps or extra plastic around the hinges. On ours the metal hinge is inserted during injection process creating a smooth low-profile surface.
