Many people discover they need their vision corrected at an early age. The most important thing you’ll want to check is that the lenses in question are specifically “optical quality,” as these are guaranteed to be free of blemishes that can cause strain and damage to the eye. If you’re at the point in your life at which reading glasses become an integral commodity, don’t be fooled into purchasing cheaply manufactured products, as they may cause more damage than benefit in the long run.

Some eyewear manufacturers assume consumers don’t know the difference and profit from this, charging the same amount for glasses with inferior, even potentially counterproductive lenses as companies who provide optical quality reading glasses. To be positive the glasses you purchase are well-made, be sure to only buy from FDA-approved companies that are members of the US Vision Council.
